What are the prizes?
Each finalist will receive a certificate and each category winner will receive $400, a custom designed trophy and certificate.

Who can enter?
In 2009, apprentices, trainees, students, schools and employers who have made a significant contribution to the Wheatbelt in the areas of training, education and employment.

Is there a cost involved?
Entry is free

Who is on the judging panel?
Panels at all stages of the judging are made up of people from industry and the training sector, as well as independent businesses. Category sponsors are also represented on the judging panel. Care is taken to make sure there is a balance of genders and backgrounds. The decisions of the judging panels are final.

How will I know that I have reached the next stage?
All applications are eligible to receive the category award. The award coordinator will liaise with you throughout the entire process and you will receive written confirmation when we receive your application and when judging has finished.

Will I be in the media?
All entrants are ambassadors for training and education in the Wheatbelt. The event will receive a great deal of local media attention. Event partners may use photographs and non confidential information from the applications in its print and electronic publications. The application form includes a release for this purpose.

Writing Tips

  • Read the conditions of entry carefully to ensure that you are eligible for nomination
  • Write clearly and simply
  • Use the selection criteria questions as headings in your submission. You may choose to use subheadings as well.
  • Give practical examples and evidence to support your nomination.
  • Do not go over the maximum number of pages/time limit specified for your category.
  • Do not include original documents eg. Certificates. Ensure they are only copies.
  • Please keep a copy of your submission.
