Submitting your Application
- Complete an application form with your employer and/or Registered Training Organisation
- Answer all selection criteria. If you need assistance contact the awards coordinator or read our FAQ.
- Type your response to each main heading – ensure you answer all questions. You may submit no more than three pages (excluding attachments) or a 10 minute (max) video/dvd of you speaking and addressing the criteria.

You may submit your applications online or in hard copy. If you are planning on submitting online via email, you will need to complete the interactive PDF (the above application form links) and save on your computer. You will then need to attach this to an email directed to

Also attach any additional certificates/awards to support your application.
Alternatively, you can submit your application by post or hand in directly to Directions office. You can complete as much as you like online, then print out the application. Staple the application with any additional certificates/awards to support your application. Please submit two copies (including the application form) and keep a copy for yourself.
If you are submitting a video/dvd please submit only one copy, clearly labelled with your name.

Eligibility
- If you have applied for any other vocational/training awards eg. WA Training Awards, GTA Awards you may submit this as your Wheatbelt Training Awards Application.
- You must prepare to participate in an interview (in September). Phone interviews are available. Where possible interviews will be at your workplace/training site or nearby.
- You must be a permanent resident of Australia.
- You may be nominated by your employer, Registered Training Organisation, school or TAFEWA.
- You must live in the Wheatbelt region.
General Conditions of Entry
- Entries will be accepted from 25 July 2011. Closing date for entries was Friday 26 August but this has been extended to Friday 9 September 2011! Nominations received after this date will not be accepted.
- Directions take no responsibility for lost or late entries.
- Applicants must be eligible for entry according to specific award category criteria and non compliance with entry criteria will be sufficient grounds for the host body, Directions, to terminate the candidate’s participation.
- Applicants must be prepared to attend in person one interview and to undergo all preparations that Directions or its nominee shall deem necessary for the awards. Should an applicant be unable to attend an interview in person, due to distance or other feasible reason, a telephone interview will be conducted at a suitable time.
- Applicants enter on the understanding that Directions reserve the right to alter, vary and or/modify any prize or condition of entry and reserves the right to make any new conditions.
- If any applicant has received the award and is subsequently discovered to be ineligible for the award. Directions reserve the right to recover the prize from the applicant.
- Directions reserves the right to use non confidential details and/or photographs for any publicity purpose pertaining to vocational education and training, as well as the 2011 awards.
- Failure of the applicant to follow any lawful direction of Directions, or its nominee, shall be instant disqualification and instant forfeiture of any award whether or not any award has commenced, has not been completed, or has commenced but has not been completed. No candidate shall have the right to seek compensation or otherwise claim compensation and the nomination form submitted on the express understanding that the applicant waves any right to claim compensation.
- Applicants must abide by the decisions of Directions or its nominee whose decision shall be final on all matters pertaining to the award. No correspondence or justification shall be required by Directions.
