What are the Wheatbelt Training Awards?
The awards are an initiative from Directions that aims to;
- Acknowledge and award Wheatbelt based apprentices, trainees, employers and schools who have made significant contributions and achievements
- Recognise the vital contribution of apprentices, trainees, employers and schools in the local community
- Develop and promote Wheatbelt career pathways
- Showcase excellence in student work, particularly within the VET framework
- Promote living and working in WA
The seven awards for 2009 are;
- Wheatbelt Apprentice of the Year
- Wheatbelt Trainee of the Year
- Wheatbelt Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
- Wheatbelt Vocational Student of the Year
- Wheatbelt School Based Trainee of the Year
- Wheatbelt Employer of the Year
- Wheatbelt School and Business Partnership of the Year
Each category winner will receive $400, a custom designed trophy and certificate.
The criteria and application forms are available on this website or via your local telecentre or any of the event partners.
The application process has been simplified to encourage nomination.
Closing date for applications / nominations: 5pm, 19 March 2010
